Consider insurance when you book a rental car for a trip abroad. The same insurance conditions do not apply in every country and in some destinations supplementary insurances, which may sound strange in Germany, make perfect sense.
We will be happy to advise you according to your trip and inform you about any special features. Please use our contact form for this purpose.
The following two examples show why it makes sense to check the insurances for each destination individually:
1. Liability insurance in the USA: In most European countries there are statutory minimum amounts of cover for liability insurance. They are high enough to cover just about all damage. In the USA, however, the amounts of cover vary from state to state and are sometimes set very low. This can be problematic in the event of damage. Therefore, always take a look at the rental conditions. We recommend a cover sum of at least one million euros.
2. Ash and sand supplementary insurance in Iceland: In Germany, no one has probably ever thought about special protection against ash. On the volcanic island of Iceland, however, such a supplementary insurance can be quite useful.
