Ferry trips by rental car are available in New Zealand, Italy and Spain.
- New Zealand: As the country is divided into a North Island and a South Island, car ferry journeys are common and car rental is also permitted with some operators in New Zealand. It is best to clarify this with your rental company as early as possible.
- Italy: From the Italian mainland you are allowed to cross over to Sardinia and Sicily by rental car – but only with some rental companies. You can find out whether this is possible with a particular offer on billiger-mietwagen.de in the details and rental conditions.
- Spain: Ferry crossings with rental cars are also possible on the Canary Islands: Gran Canaria – Tenerife and Lanzarote – Fuerteventura are the common variants. Here, too, you have to pay a fee. The ferry crossing to La Gomera is usually not allowed. In this case, it makes sense to take the ferry across without a vehicle and get a new rental car on La Gomera.
