When you book a rental car, you usually have a choice of fuel policies. To choose the most favourable fuel policy, simply use our "Good fuel policy" filter option.
With this good fuel policy, you return the vehicle with the same tank level with which you received it. So mostly full to full, which is why it is also called the "full/full" policy. From time to time the tank may be only half full when you pick it up. This means that you only need to return the vehicle half full. For this purpose, the fuel level is documented at the time of collection. Before you return the car, refuel it as agreed and keep the receipt.
Be careful with the "full-empty" fuel policy
It is certainly pleasant not to have to refuel again before returning the car. Nevertheless, we advise against the "pick up full – return empty" fuel policy. This kind of fuel policy always attracts a hefty additional service fee that has to be paid so that the rental company can refuel the vehicle.
Tip:
Especially in popular travel destinations in Southern Europe such as Portugal, Spain and Greece, the unfavourable "full-empty" fuel policy is common practice. To exclude these offers from your search on billiger-mietwagen.de, enable the filter "Good fuel policy" in the additional services. You will then only be shown offers with the good fuel policy.
